Surrey Extra returned to the scene this week. The site remains fenced off behind security fencing and safety barriers, with significant fire damage still clearly visible — the blackened skeleton of the bin store, a boarded-up window and smoke-stained brickwork on the flats directly above, and scorch marks reaching along the wall towards the store.
Because of their ages, the three boys cannot be identified. As criminal proceedings are active, Surrey Extra will report only information that has been confirmed by Surrey Police.
Police are continuing to appeal for information. Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has photographs or footage from the evening, is urged to contact Surrey Police.
The scene one week on
One week after the fire, the aftermath is still plainly visible from the Tesco Express car park. These photographs were taken by Surrey Extra at the scene this week.
