A 1920s Rolls-Royce turned heads in Guildford — days after a 1,000-mile run to France

A 1920s Rolls-Royce parked up in Guildford was doing what a car of that age tends to do: making everybody within twenty yards stop and look.
The owner told Surrey Extra that the car normally covers only around 100 miles in a year. Shortly before it turned up in Guildford, it had completed a 1,000-mile round trip to France and back.

The polished aluminium bonnet, the Spirit of Ecstasy on the radiator cap and the red enamel badge below it all belong to a car now approaching its hundredth year — and still, on the evidence of that trip, entirely happy on a long run.
