Police officers stop to help a wheelchair user in Redhill town centre

Police officers were seen stopping to help a wheelchair user safely up onto the pavement in Redhill town centre, after assistance was needed.
It took a matter of seconds, and it was the sort of thing that would ordinarily go unremarked. A photograph of the moment has since been seen by more than 59,000 people.
Why it landed
Whatever anyone’s view of policing more broadly, moments like this one are a reminder that small acts of help can make a real difference to somebody’s day — particularly for wheelchair users, who meet obstacles in town centres that most people never have to think about.
Surrey Extra has not identified the people in the photograph.
