New fruit and veg shop opens in The Belfry shopping centre, Redhill

By Surrey Extra The Belfry, Redhill town centre

A new greengrocer has opened its doors inside The Belfry — with everything from vine tomatoes, peppers and aubergines to plantain, yam, fresh coconuts and scotch bonnets stacked high on the shelves.

Redhill town centre has a new place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. A new fruit and veg shop has opened inside The Belfry shopping centre, and Surrey Extra stopped by this weekend for a look around.

Inside, the shelves are packed with fresh produce — vine tomatoes, red and green peppers, chillies, aubergines, potatoes, onions and limes alongside a strong world-food selection including plantain, yam, bottle gourd, scotch bonnet peppers, papaya and fresh drinking coconuts.

It is a welcome addition to the town centre at a time when independent traders are working hard to keep footfall in Redhill — and the world produce range in particular fills a real gap for anyone who usually has to travel further afield for ingredients like plantain, yam and scotch bonnets.

From vine tomatoes to plantain, yam and fresh coconuts — it’s all under one roof in The Belfry.

We don’t yet have confirmed opening hours for the new shop — we will update this story with the shop’s name, hours and any offers once confirmed. In the meantime, you’ll find it inside The Belfry shopping centre in the heart of Redhill town centre.
