Lift out of service at the Belfry in Redhill as shoppers report longer waits
One of the lifts at the Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill is currently out of service, with a printed notice taped up beside the call button.
Redhill Extra has had a number of messages from residents about the centre’s lifts. Several say the disruption has meant longer waits, particularly for wheelchair users, older visitors and parents with pushchairs, who are all now relying on the remaining lift.
With one lift down, a shopping centre laid out over more than one floor becomes a good deal harder to use for anyone who cannot take the escalator or the stairs.
Surrey Extra has not been told when the lift is expected to be back in service.
