Loud motorbike turns heads in Redhill town centre
A loud, old-school motorbike had drivers and pedestrians turning to look as it made its way through Redhill town centre this week, its repeated revving echoing between the shops.
If you were in Redhill town centre earlier this week, there’s a good chance you heard it before you saw it. A loud motorbike drew plenty of attention as it worked its way through the traffic, the sound of its engine bouncing off the buildings and turning more than a few heads along the way.
Footage shared with Surrey Extra shows the bike revving repeatedly as it filtered past cars and a highway maintenance lorry, with drivers and people on the pavement glancing round to see where the noise was coming from. It’s the kind of everyday moment that gets the town talking — some love the throaty sound of a characterful bike, while others could do without it on a busy afternoon.
Loud exhausts are a familiar talking point in towns up and down the country. Plenty of riders keep their machines road-legal and considerate, though excessive noise is something councils and police do keep a general eye on, particularly around busy shopping streets.
You could hear it long before you could see it — heads turned right along the street.
To be clear, there’s no suggestion the rider was doing anything wrong. Plenty of people simply enjoy the sound of a proper engine, and for a few minutes it gave the town centre a bit of a talking point on an otherwise ordinary day.
